Why I’m doing this:
I want to dance.
I want to know other dancers and dance lovers.
I want to have friends with whom I can share my enthusiasm and passion for dance.
I want to take class almost every day.
I want to continue to dance on pointe.
I want to learn from as many people as I can as many dance forms as I can.
I want to learn the works of many choreographers.
I want to dance meaty projects.
I want to perform.
I want to learn to choreograph my visions through collaboration.
I want to learn to be a confident teacher.
I want to provide dancers of all ages and skill levels an opportunity to learn and perform.
I want to provide access to high-quality classes and performances to as many people as possible.
I want to build a professional quality, community based dance education program and family of performance troupes.
I am interested in expanding this format to include equivalent educational programs in music, drama, production, and visual arts.
I want to find a way to offer school credit to k-12 students once LCDC starts offering classes.
I want all scholarships to be work/study.
I want to work with the Lake County Symphony and other local groups and musicians.
I want to help to foster a wider audience and community support for performing arts programs in general and dance programs in particular in
I want to bring performances and participation programs to students of all ages.
I want to incorporate the LCDC as a non-profit organization when it is appropriate and feasible.
I want to build an annual Mardi Gras festival as a community event and fundraiser with out-of-county appeal that would include daytime family events, live music, Cajun and Zydeco dance lessons and a casual dance, Cajun food, a matinee performance, an evening gala performance, and a costume ball.
